Accessibility Statement

1. What was tested

• Standard compared against: WCAG 2.1 Levels A and AA, which is the basis of the Israeli standard IS 5568.
• Tool: axe-core, a widely used automated testing engine.
• Scope: 20 pages, including the home page, shop, a product page, cart, checkout, sign-in, contact, help, order tracking, cancellation, returns, careers, about, reseller application, terms of use, privacy policy and this statement itself, in both Hebrew and English.
• Date: 30 August 2026.

2. What was fixed as a result

The audit found nine categories of defect. All were fixed:

• Regions hidden from screen readers that were still reachable by keyboard — inactive home-page carousel slides, and the cart drawer while closed. A keyboard user could reach links that were neither visible nor announced.
• Links whose entire content was an image, with no accessible name.
• Insufficient colour contrast in several places: a link in the category bar, a stock badge, secondary text on light pages and in the footer.
• Links inside paragraphs distinguished by colour alone. They are now underlined as well.
• A star rating carrying an accessibility label on an element that cannot hold one, so it was never announced.
• A scrollable table that could not be scrolled by keyboard.
• An incorrect heading order in the footer.
• Alternative text that repeated text already displayed beside it, causing it to be read twice.
• Multiple navigation regions with no distinguishing name, all announced simply as "navigation".

In addition, beyond the automated findings:

• A skip-to-content link was added at the start of the tab order, so there is no need to tab through every header menu on each page.
• A visible focus indicator was added for every keyboard-reachable control. Previously some elements — including form fields — had their focus indicator removed and nothing put in its place.

A re-run of the same tool found no violations on any of the twenty pages tested.

3. What has not yet been tested

Automated testing finds only some defects. The following have not been carried out, so we make no claim about them:

• Manual testing with a screen reader (NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver).
• A full manual keyboard-only walkthrough of the whole purchase flow.
• Testing at 200% zoom and with enlarged text.
• Testing with actual users with disabilities.
• A full IS 5568 conformance assessment by a qualified accessibility specialist.
• Accessibility of the payment page, which is hosted by an external provider and is not under our direct control.

4. Known limitations

• No audit has been carried out by a qualified specialist, so no conformance level can be declared.
• Third-party services embedded in the site — the payment page, the Google and Microsoft sign-in buttons and the PayPal payment option — depend on those providers' own accessibility.
• No dedicated accessibility coordinator has been appointed. Enquiries are handled directly by ARKEN, using the details in section 6.

5. The accessibility toolbar

The site carries an accessibility toolbar, shown as a round button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. It can increase and decrease text size, change letter spacing and line height, invert colours, switch to grey hues, underline links, enlarge the cursor, show a reading guide, read text aloud and stop animations. The settings you choose are kept in your browser and persist across visits.

What the toolbar is not. An accessibility toolbar does not make a site conformant and is not a substitute for making the site itself accessible. It was added as a convenience layer on top of the fixes in section 2, not instead of them. We do not rely on it to claim conformance, and we make no such claim.

Transparency about the toolbar itself. A re-run of the audit after installing it found one defect caused by the toolbar: its controls were not associated with any landmark region on the page. That was corrected, and a further audit found no defects on any of the pages tested.

Privacy. The toolbar is served from ARKEN's own server and makes no network request of any kind — not even for external fonts or icons. It sends nothing to any third party, collects no usage data and does not identify you. It stores one item in your browser's localStorage — the settings you chose — as described in section 7 of the privacy policy. Speech-to-text is deliberately disabled so the site never asks for microphone access.
